Insert Tab

The Insert tab contains commands that enable you to insert elements into a chart or project. It is divided into five sections, described below.

Position Section

The Position section allows you to insert position boxes into your chart. Select a position option, then click a box in the chart to connect a new box to it.

Command/Shortcut	Description	Icon
Subordinate/F2	Inserts subordinate mode.
Manager/Shift+F2	Inserts manager mode.
Assistant/F3	Inserts assistant mode.
Co-worker	Inserts co-worker mode. Click the expansion arrow to select an option:
Left Co-worker/Shift+F4	Inserts left co-worker mode.
Right Co-worker/F4	Inserts right co-worker mode.

Sub-Chart Section

The Sub-Chart section contains commands that allow you to create, navigate, and edit sub-charts.

Commands	Description
Create	Creates sub-charts to fit your specifications.
Insert	Inserts sub-chart breaks at the selected box.
Remove	Removes sub-chart breaks from selected boxes.
Remove All	Removes all sub-chart breaks from the active chart.
Up	Navigates from a sub-chart to its parent sub-chart.

Illustrations & Text Section

The Illustrations & Text section is a group of commands that allow you to insert free-floating objects into your project.

Commands	Description	Icon
Line	Selects one of the following line drawing modes:
Horizontal or Vertical	Adds a horizontal or vertical line.
Diagonal	Adds an unconstrained line.
Auxiliary	Adds a line connecting any two boxes in your chart.
Shape	Click the expansion arrow to select one of the following shape drawing modes:
Rectangle	Adds a rectangle with squared corners.
Rounded Rectangle	Adds a rectangle with rounded corners.
Octagon	Adds an octagonal box.
Text Box	Adds a free text object.
Picture	Adds a picture.
Label	Adds a label to the selected line.
Legend	Adds a legend.
Auto Text	Adds an auto text element. Click the expansion arrow to select one of the auto text elements.

Arrange Section

The Arrange section positions free-floating objects.

Commands/Shortcuts	Description	Icon
Bring Forward	Click the expansion arrow to select one of the following options:
Bring Forward	Moves the selected object forward one layer.
Bring to Front	Moves the selected object to the top layer.
Send Backward	Click the expansion arrow to select one of the following options:
Send Backward	Moves the selected object back one layer.
Send to Back	Moves the selected object to the bottom layer.
Align	Moves selected objects so that they are aligned with respect to each other. Objects can be aligned to the left, center, right, top, middle, or bottom.
Anchor	Click the expansion arrow to select one of the following options:
Anchor	Anchors a selected free-floating object to a selected box. Once anchored the free floating object remains positioned next to the selected box even if it is moved within the chart area.
Unanchor	Unanchors selected free-floating objects.

Links Section

Commands	Description	Icon
Hyperlink	Creates a hyperlink from the selected field.
